Infrastructure Health & Safety Association

The IHSA provides safety solutions to those who perform high-risk activities such as working at heights, working with energized high-voltage power systems, driving motor vehicles, and working on suspended access equipment. RESCON participates in three IHSA sub-committees: the Section 21 Provincial Labour Management Health and Safety Committee, Construction Legislative Review Committee and the Residential Committee.

Construction Employers Coalition

The Construction Employers Coalition (CEC) for WSIB and Health and Safety Prevention represents more than 2,000 firms employing approximately 80,000 workers across Ontario. Purpose of the CEC is to study and respond to issues related to occupational health and safety, accident prevention and WSIB policies that affect the construction industry, including rate framework.​

League of Champions

The League of Champions (LOC) is a cross-sectoral organization dedicated to health and safety excellence through collaboration and information-sharing on real-world health and safety situations. The LOC inspires and influences leaders to commit, collaborate and take action to improve safety culture through awareness, education, promotion and recognition leading to safer construction workplaces in Ontario.

WSIB Construction Advisory Committee

The WSIB's Construction Industry Advisory Committee is an industry stakeholder group under the WSIB Chair's Advisory Committee. The committee regularly meets with the chair and senior management to collectively update the chair on the issues facing their sectors of construction.

Humber College

Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology is a public college in the GTHA offering programs in skilled trades, design and engineering technologies. Known for its work in the advanced manufacturing sector and strong applied research, Humber is ideally aligned to address on-site labour constraints through the creation of modular and off-site construction programs. In 2018, RESCON and Humber’s Carpentry and Renovations Program partnered to create placements for graduates with RESCON and ORCCA members.

George Brown College

George Brown College is a public college in Toronto. The Centre for Construction and Engineering Technology (CCET) is home to the Angelo DelZotto School of Construction Management and the School of Apprenticeship & Skilled Trades, both known in the construction industry to produce highly skilled graduates. In early 2012, RESCON provided a $500,000 endowment to George Brown College to create the Residential Construction Management Program (Postgraduate). Each year, 10-15 students are placed with a RESCON member in an entry-level construction management position (site co-ordinator, estimator, junior project manager).

Durham College

Durham College is a public college located in Durham Region. The School of Skilled Trades, Apprenticeship & Renewable Technology (START) offers programs in skilled trades. RESCON has been working with Durham College to create a tower crane operator program.

Ontario Skilled Trades Alliance

The Ontario Skilled Trades Alliance is an organization committed to closing the skills gap in Ontario. It represents more than 37 organizations that employ 100,000 skilled trades across the province. The Alliance began in 2011, with the goal to bring issues faced by Ontario’s skilled trades employers to the forefront of government decision making and regulation of the skilled trades.

Ontario Construction Careers Alliance

The Ontario Construction Careers Alliance is a non-profit, industry-funded alliance with a mandate to advance knowledge of careers in construction and associated professional vocations in Ontario schools. OCCA provides valuable information, studies and accessible resources to help students gain employment in construction. OCCA is committed to building and maintaining partnerships with school boards and construction associations to promote careers in construction as a first-choice pathway.

Residential & Civil Construction Alliance of Ontario

The RCCAO is an industry association that is the collective voice for various stakeholder groups, low-rise and high rise, and civil sectors on a variety of industry-related issues. The RCCAO engages with private-sector, public sector and industry stakeholders to create solutions to issues facing the industry.

Construction & Design Alliance of Ontario

The CDAO is a forum for discussion, development and advocacy of the construction industry's issues related to provincial government policy, legislation and regulation. The alliance develops consensus opinions and recommendations supported by appropriate research, which is presented effectively and professionally to the government.
